Afghan Refugees
at Vigneri Chocolate

Afghan employees at Vigneri Chocolate have started English classes at work!

RRRS is collaborating with Action for a Better Community (ABC) and the  Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program at the Warner School of Education/University of Rochester.

This program allows them to learn English before or after their shift. ABC provides chromebooks and remote instruction and TESOL students provide on-site support.

Over 60 years ago, in Sicily, Italy, Gaetano Vigneri began what today is known as Vigneri Chocolates. Gaetano passed down the recipes and traditions of Vigneri Chocolate to his son, Filippo, who took his family to America in 1967 and brought with him his family recipes and the skills he had acquired over the years. Gaetano in turn passed down the traditions and recipes of Vigneri Chocolate to his sons, Guy and Alex.
